Microfluidic characterization

The basic understanding and the optimization of microfluidic systems require a fundamental theoretical system description as well as a precise experimental characterization.

In this respect, HSG-IMIT provides an excellent infrastructure. Several laboratories with versatile equipment enable the characterization of microfluidic systems and components. Available equipment includes:

  • Flow and pressure sensors
  • Pressure controllers
  • Multichannel high precision syringe pumps
  • Micro scales
  • Contact angle measuring instruments
  • Climate chambers
  • Light microscopy and confocal laser microscopy
  • Stroboscopic and high-speed cameras
  • Thermo cameras
  • Laser Doppler vibrometers (LDV)
  • High-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC)
