Microfluidics

Within the Microfluidics business unit we develop custom-specific microfluidics systems for our clients. The services we offer range from consulting and feasiblity studies over R&D up to the implementation of products.

The term “microfluidics” stands for the development of controlled, intelligent micro systems for the handling, preparation, dosage, measurement and analysis of small amounts of liquids and gases.

Within the business unit Microfluidics we co-operate very closely with the Department of Microsystems Engineering (IMTEK) at the University of Freiburg – more precisely with the Laboratory for MEMS Applications (Prof. Zengerle). This strategic partnership enables us to approach the technical topics with a wider range of expertise and with more flexibility. On European level HSG-IMIT is heading the Liquid Handling Competence Centre (LICOM).
