Temperature takes a special importance under the physical dimensions. Indeed each energy conversion is almost accompanied by a heat flow which affects the temperature of the considered system. Since temperature represents a dimension which can be simply measured comparatively to other ones, a multitude of sensors are based on thermal principles. Moreover convection effects or radiation energies can be acquired. Parameters such as flow rate, dew point (air humidity), inclination angle or heat conductivity can be also measured. Likewise energy balances of physical, chemical or biological procedures can be solved in location or time. Thus a multitude of possibilities is offered, which efficiency can be considerably increased by the miniaturisation.
